"I have painted since I was
young. Although my father encourage me to do it, he never considered
painting a good way to survive in real life, so I had to choose another
career. After getting married 10 years ago, I decided to do what I've
always wanted, paint. Since that time I can not stop. My paintings, my
husband and my daughter are everything to me."
About Landscapes :
"My passion is to capture the beauty of a certain
place and moment on canvas. Each painting is the expression of what I
gather inside me as I travel through France, Mexico and other countries.
My goal is to open the imagination of the viewer so that he or she may
journey along with me, and keep something for both of us."
About Still lifes :
"Composition,
light, contrast, and texture are my main elements. My pieces have a
macro viewpoint, as I want the viewer to have a more intimate and
personal relation with each one of my works. That is how I see my pieces
and that is what I want to transmit. My still lifes are portraits of
fruits or vegetables. I have to love what I choose to paint, whether
it’s for the shape, color, texture or taste! Mexico and Michigan have an
important influence in the subjects I select, as I consider both places
my home. The backgrounds are usually dark, because I adore the contrast
of the light against dark"
About Flowers :
"I've
planted most of the flowers I've been painting, I have seen them grow
and they also have a personal relationship with me. In these paintings,
the backgrounds are not obscure and I used the palette knife a lot more
often"
"You
might think there is a different artist creating still lifes and the
other pieces. But the thing is, I enjoy using various styles. There is
always me in my works. I tend to paint one subject at a time, always a
close up of the subject, with sun light, contrast, texture and
happiness."
